Updated: March 23, 2012
Today, around 2:30pm the Utica Police Department responded to the Parkway near Miller St. for two pit bulls attacking a deer.   It was reported that two dogs chased the deer onto the roadway where the deer and one dog were struck by a car.

The deer suffered extensive injuries and employees from the Utica Zoo rushed down to euthanize the deer.   One of the pitbulls is rumored to have a broken leg.  Officers on scene examined the area thoroughly but were not able to locate the dogs.   They were last seen on the Parkway between Miler and Symour Ave.  One is described as a gray dog and the other as a brindle.

Any spotting or information regarding the dogs can be reported to animal control by calling 735-3301
