Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver has announced that the Assembly has approved legislation that would put $4.5-billion to improve the state's transportation infrastructure.
A key part of that budget is about $1-billion that will go to the New York Works Initiative, a major job creation plan that will help to accelerate many transportation projects across the state.
And of course in addition to job creation, he says, "The Transportation funding included in this budget will improve the conditions of the roads, bridges and mass transit systems that new yorkers rely on every day."
