Water Main Break Leads to Boil Water Advisory

By: WUTR Eyewitness News
Updated: May 29, 2012
The Mohawk Valley Water authority has issued a boil water advisory in Utica for Burnet Street from Bleecker Street to Elizabeth Street and Post Street from Burnet Street to Charlotte Street after a water main break today.

Businesses on the 200 block of Elizabeth Street in Downtown Utica were evacuated because of the break on Burnet Street.

Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente says most employees working at the buildings were sent home because of a lack of water where they work.
The Water Authority says everything should be up and running April 3, 2012, but it could be a few days longer until the boil water advisory is lifted.
