The Mohawk Valley Regional Economic Development Council announced some much needed funding for the Schoharie Crossing to promote tourism and aid flood recovery.

The crossing has been awarded $95,000 in funding for their damaged flood facilities and to advance public work projects.

The money will also be used for a new playground, new signs, and other updates.

It comes as part of Governor Andrew Cuomo's Regional Council initiative.

Schoharie Crossing is a historical landmark in the Mohawk Valley that provides New Yorkers a place to learn about the state's history and to spend some time outdoors.
