Police: Toddler tries to stop suspect from attacking mother

A Utica man is under arrest and facing several charges after a domestic incident on Tuesday, April 23, 2012.
According to Utica Police, Daniel Penree, 30, of Neilson Street pushed his girlfriend down during an argument and took her keys and her cell phone.
The victim's toddler son then began to hit Penree to get him off of his mother.
Penree then pushed his girlfriend out the front door and down the stairs.
When officers tried to arrest him, he ran into his house and tried to slam the door.
Officers had to use a Taser in order to subdue Penree.
Penree is charged with two counts of Harassment, Resisting Arrest, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
