With recent news of the layoffs at Orion Bus Industries in Oriskany, organizations are reaching out to help Orion workers.
Representatives of the Oneida County Office of Workforce Development and Working Solutions are setting up a temporary satellite office providing outreach to Orion employees.
The office is located at the Oneida County Traffic Safety Building on Base Road in the Industrial Park, right next door to the Orion facility.
Here, Orion employees and their families can go through options and develop plans for the future.
Although it's reported that less than twenty workers were let go, the executive director of the workforce investment board says employees can learn and prepare for potential benefits and services that can be available to them.
"They should come and just tell us what they're concerned at the moment. Is it how to file for unemployment or how to put a resume together? Everyone acts differently to this kind of news. We will be running workshops and we will publish them to the public and people can take advantage anytime," said Alice Savino, the Executive Director of Workforce Investment Board.
The Mid York Library system will be bringing computers to the office to assist workers with computer training and resume building.
