Congressman Hanna Speaks at Ilion High School about Military Academies

By: Rachel Polansky
Updated: June 4, 2012
Ilion High schoolers interested in the joining military had a special opportunity today.

Representative Richard Hanna spoke with students about the upcoming Academy Day this Saturday. Hanna explained that there are many options for students after high school - one of them being attending military academies with great opportunities to offer.

"For the constraints that people are under in going to school today and the cost of an education, I really think people should consider military academies. They are top- notch educational institutions and wonderful opportunities to learn and build careers beyond that."

Academy Day starts at 10 in the morning and goes until noon on Saturday at Suny-IT. Interested students can speak with representatives from the air force, naval academy, coast guard, and merchant marines.
