The Mohawk Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross held its 95th annual meeting this afternoon.

The event featured brief presentations and speeches to mark the end of the group's fiscal year and to celebrate the kick-off of the new fiscal year that begins July 1st. The chapter executive says it's a very exciting time to be serving the Mohawk Valley.

"This community, the Mohawk Valley, has been outstanding. I think it's been written up many times in the media. We're very grateful for that support every day. We're here to serve, we're excited about the future, and we're ready to roll up our sleeves and do what's necessary to make it a better place to live," says Victor Fariello, Chapter Executive.

Utica Mayor Rob Palmieri gave a welcome speech to attendees, followed by an election of board members, and the meeting ended with a year in review.
