GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett was the featured guest on "Your Local Election Headquarters with Tom Zalaski" on Sunday morning.

The Democrat talked about several key issues in the upcoming primary and recall elections.

Barrett is one of four Democrats vying for the chance to take on Governor Scott Walker in a June recall election. This is the state's first ever statewide recall election.

Barrett ran against Walker in 2010, but lost my a small margin. He tells WFRV that his reasons for running again are different than the 2010 run. Barrett says Walker has divided the state and that he wants to the "civil war" in Wisconsin.

The recall effort against Walker was generated by the Republican's new policies that ended collective bargaining for most public employees. Earlier this week the Walker Administration announced the policies have saved the state $1.3 billion.

When asked about the savings Barrett claimed the governor is trying to divert attention from the state's poor employment numbers.

Last week the Labor Depatment announced that Wisconsin lost more jobs in the last year than any other state in the country.

"I understand that he doesn't want to talk about that. But quite honestly, that's what he talked about as a candidate for governor. He talked about creating 250,000 jobs," said Barrett of Walker in his 2010 campaign.

Barrett called the Republican a failure by Walker's own measure of creating 250,000 jobs.
