50-year-old Karen Wilson admitted to stealing more than $50,000 dollars from her employer, an insurance company in Utica.

Wilson says she stole the money to pay credit card bills and other expenses. Wilson has until January 4th to pay back all the funds - totaling $52,000 dollars to Nackley Agency Inc.

But the assistant District Attorney says her looming punishment is more about the family she "hurt" rather than the money.

"This was a good day for the family of Michael Nackley, to finally see justice done in this case. It has a human element to it. It's not just about the money. This was a family business, these were family members to him, including the defendant," says Bernard Hyman, Assistant District Attorney.

Wilson faces 6 months in Oneida County Jail and five years probation when she is sentenced on January 4th.
