While many have stepped up to help those in need after Hurricane Sandy, a church in Utica is doing it's part.

The Peter Spencer UAME Church on Bleecker St. is holding a donation drive to collect items for it's sister church in Staten Island.

They will be collecting anything from bottled water, clothing, to flashlights on Tuesday and Wednesday.

"We're all subject to going through some hard times here and there, and for someone who is willing to step out and help another in need, that's what we're supposed to do, that's what we're here for, to help each other out the best we can," said Rev. Kevin Alexander.

If you are interested in donating, you can stop by the church anytime between  9 a.m. and 7 p.m. at 841 Bleecker St.

Organizers plan to deliver the items collected at the end of the week.
