One decision can change your life. That's the message that former NBA star Chris Herren told a crowded room at SUNY-IT tonight. Herren spoke about his battle with heroin, the loss of his basketball career, and his road to recovery.

"3 weeks into my college experience I was introduced to cocaine. It took 14 years to walk away from. One decision can change your life forever," says Herren, former Boston Celtics NBA player.

Nearly 1,000 people came out to the event, sponsored by the Center for Family Life and Recovery, Inc.'s Prevention Council in partnership with ACCESS Coalition (Area College and Community Educators for Safe Strategies).
