We are hours away until we ring in the New Year here in theU.S. Although many festivities won't start until later in the evening, some celebrated a little early.

It's not a countdown to midnight, rather a countdown to noon.

Turning Stone hosted its first ever "Noon" Year's Party, a celebration for people 55 and older to ring in the New Year early.

"It gives us a chance to celebrate New Year's Eve without having to go out at midnight tonight," said Betty Schlick.

"The seniors more or less don't want to go out tonight. Ninety percent of them don't," explained Daniel Hayes.

The early celebration was for people who can't make it past midnight or for those who just want to get the party started early.

Some revelers dressed to impress.

"I had to pick through my closet because after Christmas shopping I was broke. I couldn't go buy a new dress. But I picked one that I had in my closet," said Ellen Schaub.

One person who stood out from the crowd is Sherwood Smith, he dressed up as Count Dracula.

"Why am I dressed up as the Count of Dracula. Because twice a year on Halloween and New Year's I put this outfit on I collect the 25 gallons of blood I gave for over 60 years. I'm getting it back," said Smith.

But, the cape and fangs came off when he hit the dance floor.

Seniors danced the afternoon away with music from the 40s through the 80s.

The party had everything a New Year's Eve party would have, including champagne.

If you still don't have plans for tonight- turning stone says it's holding various free events.
