Utica Mayor and wife reveal recipients of 2013 Mayor's Benefit Gala

It's a fundraising event aimed at helping different area agencies every year in the City of Utica.
Mayor Palmieri and his wife Susan released details today for their 2013 Benefit Gala. Susan has picked Utica Safe Schools Healthy Students Partnership or USSH to be this year's recipients.
She says in light of the recent tragedy in Newtown, it's appropriate to support an organization that helps to keep children feel safe in school.
"It's just the foundation that we need. To have children start at a very early age to realize that, although they are different, we are all different, that they have potential to succeed. They just need that positive reinforcement," said Susan.
USSHS has worked with the city since its inception. This year's gala is on March 23rd at the Radisson Hotel in Utica.
