County.
After a tight race for sheriff and a runoff coming up, there's no time to rest now.
Mickey Blackmon's name has been on the Hutchinson County Sheriff's desk once before.
"To sum it up: qualifications. The sheriff has to have a working knowledge of what a sheriff's office does," Blackmon said.
Blackmon lost in a re-election year and went on to work for the Potter County Sheriff's office.
Don Johnson on the other hand, doesn't have sheriff on his resume.
He worked as a state trooper for 34 years, and he prides himself on his grassroots effort.
"Just out knocking on doors, talking to people, covering these neighborhoods, out here in Borger. It's not about me. It's about the people in Hutchinson County," Johnson said.
For now, people in Hutchinson County are divided, and the winner is anybody's guess.
As for the primary, voter turnout was low. A little more than 2,700 people voted out of more than 22,000 residents of Hutchinson County as reported in the 2010 Census.
