(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) Voter registration is kicking into high gear. Across the nation, people took part in National Voter Registration Day on Tuesday.

Here in St. Joseph, the County Clerk says registration has spiked since the last Presidential election.

There are about 54,000 registered voters in Buchanan County.

The clerk's office is doing all they can to make registration easy, including holding registration drives around town.

"Trying to get people in the right polling place, get them registered, get their address changed, anything we can to alleviate any madness that will be going on on election day," Mary Baack-Garvey said.

The last day to register is October 10. You can register by going to the your county courthouse or online.
