(OCTOBER 13, 2012) Former US Congressman and 3-Star Admiral Joseph Sestak was in Erie Saturday, throwing his support behind several local candidates running for office.

Sestak told a crowd gathered at a home on the grounds of the Erie Land Lighthouse, that Northwestern Pennsylvania needs Sean Wiley as its PA State Senator to help put its people back to work with good paying jobs as well as incentives for businesses to retain and advance their workers.

"Sean Wiley is a great candidate. He does understand what people are all about. He really knows people can be all they can be. But he also wants the community to come together and help themselves be everything they can be," said Sestak.

Earlier in the day, Admiral Sestak endorsed the candidacy of Ryan Bizzarro in the race for PA 3rd District Rep.

Bizzarro is running for the PA House of Representatives seat being vacated by PA Rep. John Hornaman.

Sestak said, "[Ryan] understands the men and women who serve this nation. When they came back they deserved to be supported, and at times they need a helping hand."

Sestak also threw his support to Missa Eaton the democratic nominee for Pennsylvania's 3rd  Congressional district .
Eaton is running against incumbent Congressman Mike Kelly.
