In the 13th district Congressional Race, Republican Rodney Davis is facing Democrat David Gill.
We're asking the candidates what must be done to make the USPS profitable?

Rodney Davis:
"Well we're going to have to put some business sense into some of the decisions that are made. I think the post office provides a tremendous service that we as Americans take for granted on a regular basis. I think we can go in and figure out ways to cut the fraud and the waste and make sure that we have the rates that are acceptable to all Americans to continue to make the post office a viable part of our economic system "

David Gill:
"Well I think you start by not forcing the postal service to fund their healthcare benefits 75 years into the future. There's been a real accounting gimmick put in place with the, for the postal workers to their detriment and I think that you have to not treat them differently than any other government employees. They've been forced to pay into this thing that goes out three quarters of a century into the future and that's just not right. I look to stand up strong for postal workers here in Illinois 13."
