PEORIA -- More than 1,000 area residents have already taken advantage of early voting.

The Peoria County Election Commission said it had 872 voters Monday and more than 500 on Tuesday.

It said that's a huge jump from the last time we had a presidential election.

On the first day of early voting in 2008, only about 400 people voted.

The Commission said more people are familiar with early voting now and are choosing to take advantage of the opportunity.

You can vote early at four locations in Peoria.

-The Election Commission
-Peoria County Clerk'S Office
-Illinois Central College North Campus
-Peoria County Care and Treatment Board

Remember, if you're voting early, be sure to bring a photo I.D.
