Spartans down Black Knights

Clayton Whittemore and Chris Luker scored two goals apiece to lead New Hartford to a 7-3 victory over Rome Free Academy in a Section III, Division II hockey playoff semifinal game Wednesday at the New Hartford Recreation Center.
The defending state champion Spartans (17-4-1) will play Cazenovia (16-4-2), a 2-0 winner of Skaneateles Wednesday, in the sectional title game at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Utica Memorial Auditorium.
