After rolling through their first four games of the season , the Herkimer Generals ran into a brick wall on Saturday against Monroe Community College at Wehrum Stadium. The Tribunes managed to net 22 goals, and gave the Generals their first loss of the season, winning 22-4.
Herkimer (4-1), minus Danielle Hulslander after injuring herself against Broome Community College on Wednesday, played very well in the opening minutes of the contest. With goals from Lauren Pescetti and Corinne Schoen the Generals jumped out to a 2-0 lead.
After the 2-0 run, their best of the game, things got worse for the Generals. With Theresa Catteau winning most of the faceoffs, Monroe Community College turned a two-goal deficit into a nine-goal lead (11-2).
Helping the Tribunes to their 11-0 run through the span of 12 minutes was Mara Manson, Jillian O’Connor, Kaila Fox and Lexi Crusha.
