Boys Baseball Richfield Springs Tournament

Remsen 10, Schenevus 1

W: Nate Corr (1-1) L: Mike Miner 2B: Mark DiPerna (2), Corey Clark, Mike Cyr; Remsen Nate Corr was brilliant on the mound for the Rams as he pitched a complete game 1 hitter in the first round of the Richfield Springs Tournament over the weekend.  Nate struck out 14 and walked 5 in his seven innings of work.  Patrick Taylor led Remsen with 3 hits while Mark DiPerna had 2 doubles and 3 RBIs.

 

Championship Game

Gilbertsville-Mount Upton 13, Remsen 9

W: Alex Schmidt  L: Mark DiPerna (0-3) 2B: Remsen; Pat Taylor: Mt. Upton; Corin Todd; 3B: Mt. Upton; Brenden Zucchi: Remsen; Mark DiPerna The Rams pounded out 13 hits off of Mt. Upton pitching but committed 8 errors in the field to drop a close one in the championship game of the Richfield springs Tournament.  Mark DiPerna and Pat Taylor each had 3 hits apiece to lead the Rams on offense.  DiPerna, Nate Corr and Kurtis Roberts each had 2 RBIs for the game.

 

Oriskany 4, Frankfort-Schuyler 3

WP:  Joe Doolen (2-2)  LP:  Andrew Talarico Records: Oriskany 8-4 (3-2)Pitching Battery: Oriskany: Joe Doolen, Mike Bunal (6), Joe Doolen and Travis Tyler Frankfort Schuyler:  Aiello, Talarico (5) and Ludwig 2B: Oriskany:  Brad Sahl (1), Noah Lupini (1) 3B:  Frankfort:  Andrew Talarico (1) RBI's: Oriskany:  Jake O'Neil (2), Brad Sahl (1), Noah Lupini (1) Frankfort:  Andrew Talarico (3) Game Highlights: Oriskany improved to 8-4 overall with a 4-3 CSC cross-over victory over Frankfort-Schuyler.  Jake O'Neil's single drove in Noah Lupini in the top of the 7th inning to give Oriskany the 4-3 lead.  Noah Lupini led the offense as he was 3-for-4.  Joe Doolen took a no-hitter into the bottom of the sixth inning before Frankfort tied the game at 3-3 on Andrew Talarico's 2 RBI triple.  Joe Doolen threw 6 2/3 innings to get the win, allowing 1 hit and striking out 9 batters.  Oriskany will host a CSC III game vs. Hamilton on Monday at 4:30.  

Westmoreland 9, New York Mills 7

WP: Craig Pawlikowski. LP:Jim Fellone. S: Brandon Jones 2B: Westmoreland, Kyle O'Kane; NY Mills, Jon Ross, Addison Wolanin, Shane Joswich  Records:Westmoreland (5-0, 10-2). HIGHLIGHTS Top Hitters: For Westmoreland: Travis Rogers had 2 hits and a run, Danny Smith had 3 hits and 3 RBI, Brandon Jones had 3 hits and 3 RBI, Ryan Murphy had a hit and 2 RBI, Jason Arcuri and Matt Brundage each had 2 hits.  Pitching Highlights: For Westmoreland:Craig Pawlikowski notched his first varsity win going 5 innings with 5 earned runs and 5 Ks. Westmoreland's next game is Monday 4:30 at home vs West Canada.

Westmoreland 4, New York Mills 2

WP: Julie Harrison LP: Corrin Flihan (6-6) This afternoon,Westmoreland senior pitcher, Julie Harrison,scattered 3 hits,striking out 3, walking 1 and hit 2 batters, out-dueled Mills pitcher, Corrin Flihan.  The game was a non-leaguer for both schools. Ciara Nolan, Molly Peckham, and Gabby Murphy had RBI's for Westmo.  Jenn Munn added 2 hits for the Bulldogs.  Westmoreland is 7-1, 5-0.  NYM is 6-6, 5-0.New York Mills left five runners in scoring position, including second and third in the seventh inning. Marissa Pietruch had two hits for Westmoreland.
