CNYRD Presents a Derby Double Header against Connecticut on August 14th
On Saturday August 14th, Central New York Roller Derby (CNYRD) will host a flat track roller derby double header at the JFK Civic Arena in Rome, NY featuring live music by Draculatron. Come see two bouts for the price of one! The first bout of the evening will be a menís roller derby faceoff between The Connecticut Death Quads and Central New Yorkís own Quadfathers. After the men, womenís roller derby will take the track for CNYRDís Utica Clubbers versus The Yankee Brutals (CT Rollergirls). The Clubbers are still high from their unexpected take down of Lehigh Valley on July 31st and are looking for another upset against Connecticut.
The JFK Civic Arena is at 500 W. Embargo St., Rome, NY. The doors open at 4:00 pm and the menís bout will begin at 5:00 pm. The womenís bout begins at 7:00 pm. The cost of admission is $12 at the door for adults. There is free admission for children under 10 and adults over 65. Advance tickets may be purchased for $10 each at www.ticketderby.com, at the Tramontaine Cafe and Cafť Domenico in Utica, and at Billís Variety in Rome. CNYRD is a proud supporter of the YWCA domestic violence shelter. One dollar of each ticket sold at the door during 2010 home bouts will be donated to benefit the shelter, which we believe furthers our mission of womenís empowerment.
