The man accused of stabbing his ex-girlfriend was back in court on Wednesday. Nicholas Tuttle of Cassville is charged with possession of a weapon and assault. He waived his right to a felony hearing, and the case will now be presented to a grand jury. The Oneida County District Attorney's office is no longer prosecuting the case due to the D.A.'s conflict with the defendant. According to Oneida County District Attorney Scott McNamara, the prosecution is now being handled by the Onondaga County D.A.'s office. Tuttle is the stepson of the Utica Democratic Party Chairman who worked on the D.A.'s campaign this year and in 2007. Tuttle was also a student of McNamara's at Mohawk Valley Community college.
