Herkimer County HealthNet has announced an award for an incentive to staying active.
This is an award that municipalities can apply for to support healthy places to work, play, and live.
The New York State Department of Health will be granting the money for this fund.
The award will be a $5000 grant to promote any project with healthy living.
"We have four $5000 incentives that Herkimer County municipalities can apply for," said Adam Hutchinson, the executive director for Herkimer County HealthNet.
Those applying for the grant have until Friday September 30 to be considered.
The application consists of a two page explanation of the area or project they want to update.
