With no snow on the ground, how are local businesses who sell snowmobiles and other merchandise dealing with the weather?

The co-owner of Mike's Cycle and Sport Shop says he's not in panic mode just yet with no fresh powder.

In fact, he says sales have been higher then last year at this time.

"We're more then 60% to 70% sold out, even with snow or no snow. We have more snowmobiles delivered at this time," said Co-Owner, Anthony Skarnulis.

The shop has been open since 1967, and Skarnulis says he knows the secret as to why business is still stead.

"People don't know when the snow's going to occur, so they are buying because they really don't know when it's going to fall," said Skarnulis.

However, Independent Salesman, Brent Dillenbeck says it's been tough.

He says with no snow on the ground, he can't provide the products that people need.

"You see trends, basically these seasonal businesses, they rely on having snow packs whether it's skiing, snowmobiling, anything," said Dillenbeck.

Dillenbeck says he then has to come up with other plans to keep customers buying.

"We try to just focus in on core products or maybe certain niches," he said.

And throughout the rest of the holiday and winter season, Anthony Skarnulis says he has no doubt in his mind that items will sell.

"We feel confident that it's going to be a total sell out," said Skarnulis.
