With the Superbowl XLVI just days away, area officials are placing bets. Governor Cuomo and Mass. Gov. Patrick announced an interstate wager on the big game between the Giants and Patriots, but all for a good cause. If the Giants win, Gov. Patrick will send Gov. Cuomo:
-46 Centerville Pies from "The Pie Ladies" in Centervilee
-Legal Sea Foods Clam Chowder
-46 Cases of Food Should Taste Good Chips in Needham Heights
But, if the Patriots win, Gov. Cuomo will send Gov. Patrick:
-46 cases of one of the State's NY made Greek Yogurt
-46 dozen bagels from Ess-a-Bagel in Manhattan
-46 cheesecakes from Junior's in Brooklyn
Whoever wins, they will donate all proceeds to a food bank.
Senator Chuck Schumer is betting cases of NY Craft Brews, including Saranac Brewery in Utica while New Hampshire's Gov. Jeanne Shaheen wagers their famous Smuttynose beer.
If the Giants win, Shaheen must supply the entire Senate with Craft Beers from New York. But, if the Pats win Schumer must buy each member of the Senate craft beers from New Hampshire.
Senator Schumer says when the Giants beat the Pats, Senators all across the County will be a part of the "I Love NY Brew" Campaign.
The "I Love NY Brew" is a campaign to place more locally-brewed NY beer in the City and area restaurants, bars and convenience stores.
Schumer wagered beer from six NY's craft beers: Saranac Matt Brewing Co., Brooklyn Brewery, Blue Point Brewing Co., Captain Lawrence Brewing Co., Ithaca Beer Co. and Brown's Brewing Co.
The big game will be played on Sunday, February 5 at 6:30 p.m.
