Utica Police say around 8:00 Sunday night, they responded to Lenox Ave. regarding a complaint of criminal mischief. The officer spoke with a tow truck operator, who said that he stopped on Lenox Ave. to ask for directions. He was pulled to the side of the road when a woman got angry because she could not get around his truck. She then struck his truck with a baseball bat and struck the hood, fender, and windshield, then ran away.

Officer Parkosewich of the UPD checked the area and located the suspect, Shellyann Parnell of Utica, on Oriskany St. As he approached her, she tried to run into a house. The officer stopped her and Parnell pushed the officer and said she didn't want to talk to him. The officer then told her she was under arrest and she refused to be hand cuffed, and resisted arrest. The officer deployed a Taser and Parnell was eventually taken into custody.

The 24-year-old Parnell is charged with harassment and resisting arrest.
