The Herkimer and Oneida County Sheriff's Office have a total of 21 new corrections officers.
Over the past five weeks, recruits underwent training at the Basic Corrections Academy.
The Herkimer County Sheriff's Office had six of their recruit officers trained at this academy along with fifteen recently hired corrections officers from Oneida County.
Two out of the six graduates from Herkimer County are women.
"A lot of times when people think of corrections, they think a female can't do the same thing as a male when in actuality they can do the exact same thing. It wasn't something I ever thought of doing but the opportunity came about and I went for it," says Adrienne Pizer.
Adrienne says she's looking forward to getting back into the jail setting.
Congratulations to all the new corrections officers.
