For those who have always wanted to start their own business, but didn't know where to start, might have had a little more direction Tuesday night.

Utica was the first stop in Governor Cuomo's statewide effort to help people start or grow their small businesses.

A team of state agency officials were available to talk about different opportunities and tips on developing small businesses in New York State.

"We want to teach them about the process...small businesses are job creators in the state and the Governor is very well aware of that, and wants to provide as much support as possible," said Deputy Secretary to the Governor, Alphonso David.

David says they hope to provide small business owners with support so they are able to open up businesses, and keep them open.
