That's according to a new report released from Excellus BlueCross BlueShield.

It shows that when ranked among other states in the United States, the upstate New York region has the 18th largest population, but its uninsured rate ranks among the ten lowest.

The report showed the population groups are most at risk for being uninsured are minorities, those younger than 35 years of age, those who are single and the socioeconomically disadvantaged.

The report also showed that one in five upstate New York adults who had no formal education or training beyond high school was uninsured.
