Could residents of Oneida County start seeing an armored military Humvee patrolling the streets?
Yes, if Senator Charles Schumer has his way.
He is seeking an unused military Humvee from Fort Drum for the Oneida County Sheriff's Office.
Senator Schumer's office says over a dozen surplus Humvee recently arrived at Fort Drum.
Senator Schumer also says Oneida County Sheriff Rob Maciol has "specific and proactive plans" for the use of this humvee, including a critical role as part of the Emergency Response Team.
