Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi announced today that his legislation regarding small business breweries has passed the Assembly.
It would give small breweries, like the FX Matt Brewery a way to expand their business by giving them the option to terminate their unfavorable contracts with beer wholesaler companies.
Before the legislation, many of the breweries were locked into contracts with wholesalers who were not actively promoting their brands.
"Small businesses, like the breweries that would be affected by this legislation, are a driving force for new jobs in our community," Assemblymember Brindisi said. "If breweries have the ability to leave unfavorable contracts, it will spur growth and expansion of their business, creating more good-paying jobs for our hardworking families."
