Crime victims, survivors, and those who serve them are coming together to recognize National Crime Victims' Rights Week.
The Oneida County Sheriff's Office says this year's theme is "Extending the Vision, Reaching Every Victim"... the goal being to celebrate progress achieved thus far and expand on the vision that inspired this movement.
Part of that progress includes the Sheriff's Victim Hotline, to provide victims the status of their offenders, a victim's bill of rights, and a victim compensation program.
"There is still a great deal of work ahead to reach every victim," says Sheriff Maciol. "We, as advocates, must continue to fight for these core victims' rights at every turn."
