SUNYIT celebrated the completion of a $20 million project today.

Student athletes, faculty and staff, SUNYIT's President and area officials gathered at the newly opened Wildcat Field House.

The building is a new home for SUNYIT's athletes and campus intramural and recreation programs.

SUNYIT's Athletic Director says the school has come a long way from the earlier days when athletes practiced at the YMCA in New York Mills.

"Our student athletes are just impressed. It's going to help us in the future to develop better programs because we can attract students from the greater area and across the state," said Kevin Grimmer, the Athletic Director.

The Wildcat Field House includes a fitness center, an indoor running track, and a new turf field and baseball field.
