Man falls asleep behind the wheel, crashes into tree

An Old Forge man crashed into a tree after falling asleep at the wheel.
Police say 21-year-old Eric M. Socash was traveling on Southshore Rd when he fell asleep, going off the road and striking a tree.
He was treated at the scene for minor hand and head injuries by officials and released at the scene.
Officials also found marijuana on the scene and Socash is scheduled to appear in court for unlawful possession. Other charges are still pending.
