Hanna Scores Landslide Primary Victory

By: Administrator
Updated: June 27, 2012
Eyewitness News, along with other media outlets, have declared U.S. Representative Richard Hanna the winner of the 2012 Republican Primary.

Among the power of incumbency, a healthy campaign war chest, and support from Tuesday's voting Republicans, the freshman representative has defeated Congressional hopeful and tea party supported Michael Kicinski, of Earlville. From the early returns throughout the Tuesday primary evening election returns, Mr. Hanna never appeared to be in jeopardy of losing to Mr. Kicinski at any time, or in any county encompassed by the newly redistricted 22nd Congressional District.

With 549 of 550 precincts reporting, here are the numbers as of 11:30 p.m. (26 June 2012):

Richard Hanna:             9,578 votes

Michael Kicinski, Sr.:   2,743 votes
