As some people get back into the pool - some are getting back into the classroom. Today summer school for teachers kicked off. Area teachers are attending the SEMI High Tech "U." The two day training program is designed to help teachers integrate technology into their lessons. Organizers say the training they receive helps teachers feel confident in the lessons they deliver.
Lisa Anderson the Vice President of SEMI Foundation says, "I think it's really important for the teachers to understand what technology is going to be introduced into this region. And when that happens the teachers can go back into the classroom and feel more confident and what they're communicating to the students."
More than forty middle and high school teachers are attending the conference.
