A body was found in Oneida Lake yesterday evening. The body was discovered by two area
residents who were leaving their dock area for an evening boat ride on the
lake.
Madison County deputies were called out and found the body floating in the
lake. Authorities
tell us the victim is a white man who is believed to be in his 40s or 50s.
The man was
clothed in a blue bathing suit and gray t-shirt with the sleeves cut off, and
weighs about 80-200 pounds, with a surgical scar on his chest.
He was spotted
in the water behind a home on pierce road, just east of Bridgeport in the Madison County town of Sullivan. The body
was floating about 100 feet from the shore line.
At this time, foul play is not believed to be involved. The sheriff is asking residents to call them if they notice
a neighbor or friend who may match the description of this victim, and has not
been seen in the past day or two.
