It looks like some folks are getting a raise. At a Herkimer County Board
of Trustees meeting tonight, the board voted all in favor to update the
part-time employee pay scale, which has not been updated since 2001.
They say they're hoping this resolution will bring more educators and
campus safety officers to the college.
"Currently these part time campus safety officers are being paid in the range of around $12 dollars. With the new proposal from when they're hired to up to 2 years, we're looking at a price of $15 dollars per hour," says Nicholas Laino, Board of Trustees Vice President of Administration and Finance.
And the board says salary will increase over time. After working 2 to 5 years, campus safety officers can make $16 dollars per hour. And after 5 years, they can make $17 dollars per hour.
