Members of the Department of Environmental Conservation are in Utica cleaning up a gasoline spill that happened 25 years ago.
According to a DEC spokesperson, the spill happened back in 1987, on the property next to Nicky Doodle's on Genesee Street.
Although there was an immediate cleanup after, some of the spill seeped into the property's soil.
Equipment failure was to blame and there's no word on how much was spilled. Now, crews are cleaning up the leftover contaminated soil.
