On Point For College, a Syracuse-based non-profit, announced today that the city of Utica is selected as their next destination. Only 16% of adults in Utica have bachelor degrees. On Point For College guides young men and women through the college process and provides on-campus support services to help students stay in college and graduate. One On Point For College recipient says she would have never graduated without this organization.

"We've helped over 3,000 young people go on to 216 colleges and universities," says
Ginny Donohue, On Point For College founder.

"Besides strength, if you lack the knowledge and the resources, how can you survive? It was just that matter of needing someone to purchase the books when I didn't have money or getting transportation back and forth to school when I didn't have a ride there," says Calmesha Givens, On Point For College recipient.

The founder says their choices were between Buffalo, Rochester, and Utica - but she says Utica had the support of over 40 organizations and she knew it was meant to be.
