Following reports of
suspicious activity in a wooded area along the Mohawk River, Pome Police
discovered an unattended meth lab.
The lab was found just off of Railroad Street in Rome along the river.
The Police Community Impact Unit found
the lab and say it was active at the time. They called in the State Police for
assistance and were able to secure and safely remove the lab from the area.
Rome Police say the new Community
Impact Unit was vital to this bust.
Police Chief Kevin Beach says, "That's why we started this Community Impact Unit, you know we've only had them up and running for just over a week now and the results have been tremendous so far."
Rome Police are continuing to investigate the situation and at this time no arrests have been made.
