Monday was the grand opening of "New 2 U Thrift Store" in Utica.
Different agencies in the area like the Arc Oneida-Lewis Chapter, the veteran's center and The Parkway Senior Center are all coming together to volunteer at the store.
The store is to benefit veterans and the senior center.
With the tough economic times, the store coordinator says there is a need for items that are reduced in price.
"There are so many veterans that are in need, coming home from service, and having to get started over again, and they need the help," said Myrtle Ann Seifried.
