Community Center Under Construction in German Flatts

The Town of German Flatts has officially broken ground on the construction of their new community center. The construction is thanks to a $150,000 grant and hard work from numerous volunteers. German Flatts new community meeting place is located in the town park. The town supervisor says people will enjoy the center because of the history that surrounds it.
Frank Spatto says, "There's a story to be told of the history of the area and that's what we're trying to do and with the grants and everything that's giving us the opportunity to tell the story and to bring the history back and let people know what was here."
Part of the project also includes a new foundation for an old one room school house. Officials say there is no completion date set for the project.
