Retail sales appear to be living up to the hype as Apple stores were
flooded with customers trying to get their hands on the iPhone 5, that
hit stores today. All across the country, telephone carriers reported
long lines and high sales for the latest generation Apple device. Buyers
say it's bigger, faster and has more features, but they say the best
part is being the first to own an iPhone 5.
"It's newer, bigger screen, faster maps, faster internet, a whole new program," says Kelsi Sanzone, Rome resident.
"it's my first iPhone so i don't know just to have the new iPhone in my hand the first day with everybody else not having it," says Jacob Bradley, Rome resident.
Apple took 2 million pre-orders for the phone in the first 24 hours they were available last week, and some analysts forecast that it will sell more than 10 million units by Monday.
