Oneida County celebrated a graduation tonight, but it wasn't your typical group of grads being honored. Joined by government and community officials, Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol honored a group of 25 inmates at the Oneida County Jail for completing GED classes as well as Anger Management and Life Skills counseling. Eyewitness News spoke with three inmates who say they couldn't be more proud.

"It was long and hard but it was worth it, and I'm glad I did it," says Joshua Shera, Oneida County inmate.

"It means eevrything to me. I kinda depended on it because now I can go to college and become what I want to be," says Shauna Standen, Oneida County inmate.

"It's like the best feeling in the world to actually do something good for myself when i'm here for something not so good and i make something out of it," says Ryan Nicholas, Oneida County inmate.

The GED, Second Start and Anger Management programs offer both academic and real world support, including job searching skills, building a resume, and relationship management.
