Kylie Ann Turczyn Memorial Benefit; Eyewitness News Speaks with Turczyn's Family

It was a murder-suicide that resulted in 2 deaths. As you may remember
from June, Kylie Turcyzn of Deerfield was murdered and her 4-year-old
daughter Gabby witnessed it all. But, after 3 months of grieving, family
and friends are trying to move forward. Eyewitness News sits down with
some of Kylie Turcyzn's family as they explain their healing process and
an upcoming event.
Kylie's aunt and uncle say the last few months have been the hardest in their lives. But they are trying to find the light through the horrific tragedy. They're planning the Kylie Ann Turczyn Memorial Benefit and they say for that one day, they won't think about the tragedy. Instead, they'll celebrate Kylie's life and Gabby's future.
"I've never been through so many emotions in my life. I cried for the first 30 days straight," says Andy Artessa, Kylie's uncle.
"The family is having a very hard time with their grief," says Kimberly Artessa, Kylie's Aunt.
But Andy and Kimberley are healing, and they say they hope the benefit will bring hope and celebration to other family and friends.
"Life has to go on. It's gonna be difficult but it's gonna be happy at the same time," says Andy.
"It is our hope that this gives them some new perspective on celebrating Kylie's life and just bringing something positive. And showing them that this community is coming together for them and for Gabriella," says Kimberly.
And all of the donations raised will go toward a fund for 4-year-old Gabby.
"Gabby has been put into an unfortunate situation at 4 years old, her life was turned upside down and she no longer has parents. So we decided that she needs a trust fund for when she's 18 years old," says Andy.
"And letting the family see a beautiful community coming together in such a beautiful way to help this little girl," says Kimberly.
Andy and Kimberly say they're ready for the grieving process to pass. Gabby is living with her grandparents and Andy says they're trying to move on.
"They did buy a new home, for obvious reasons they chose not to go to the home in Deerfield. Gabby started Pre-K this year," says Andy.
And the 4-year-old even has celebrities inviting her to events.
"She met Steven Baldwin at the Utica Boilermaker Expo and Steven Baldwin invited her to a red carpet event in New York City. And she wants to get involved in acting and I think she can do it because shes quite charismatic and she has the personality. You put the camera in front of her and she's ready to make the pose, its pretty cute," says Andy.
The Kylie Ann Turczyn Memorial Benefit is on Sunday, October 7th from noon till 6 at Daniele's Banquet Hall. Andy and Kimberly encourage everyone to attend, and they say whether you know the family or not, it's a day of celebration for our entire community.
