A local business in Utica has taken their shop to the next level.
The Mohawk Valley Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting today to celebrate the new location of the Lotus Garden Restaurant.
Owner, Sam Phou came to the U.S. from Cambodia in the 190's and says looking back to when he first moved, he would have never pictured himself where he is today, but dreamed of having his own business.
"Certainly it means a lot of long hours, a lot of hard work, but it also means that when you put your mind and soul into something that you believe in, you can make it work," said Phou.
The Lotus Garden used to be on Bleecker Street, and is now on King Street behind the Stanley Theatre.
