Avid readers... Listen up! Not every book that sparks your interest is available for you to read. In fact.. some books may be *banned* from a library. Often... The books contain controversial, or sensitive material. Earlier this afternoon... Utica college held its twenty first annual banned books read in. And some of the books that have been banned... May surprise you.

Utica College student Alexandra Caldas says, "A lot of children's books, people don't think get banned or challenged. Judy Bloom is one of the most challenged authors ever. So, a lot of preteen girls reading Judy Bloom books are pretty shocked to see books they grew up with wasn't allowed to everyone."

This is the 30th year the American Library Association has celebrated banned book week.
